Thank You for Entering, and Our Kickstarter Is Live 🎉
First, a huge thank you to everyone who entered our Kimono Shoulder Bag Giveaway! 🤍 We announced it before our last pop-up of the year at OC Japan Fair, and it was so fun to see so many of you join in, share it with friends and leave comments.
Didn't win this time? Please don't worry. We'll keep hosting giveaways as a way to share the beauty and the stories of vintage kimono with more people, so stay tuned. 🌸
Our Kickstarter Is Officially Live 🚀
The second piece of news is the one we've been working toward. Our Kickstarter campaign is now live, from October 26 to November 23, 2026.
Earlier this year, many of you wore our kimono pocket T-shirts through spring and summer. As the weather turned cooler, you asked if we'd make something warmer. So this time, the same idea comes to sweatshirts: each one has a pocket cut from authentic vintage kimono fabric, so no two are the same. 🍂❄️
If you're new to Kickstarter, it works on an all-or-nothing basis. Backers pledge to support a project, and if the funding goal isn't reached by the end date, no one is charged. We're planning to begin shipping in early December, so rewards should arrive in time for the holidays.
You can find the campaign here: our Kickstarter page. The link is also in our Instagram bio at @secondbloomtokyo.
Why It Matters to Us
Every kimono that's given a second life keeps a little of Japanese craftsmanship in use instead of in a drawer or a landfill. It also gives us a chance to share the story behind the fabric: where it came from, who might have worn it, and what its patterns mean.
We're a small business, and your support really does make the difference. Whether you back the project, share it with a friend, or simply leave a like, you're helping us bring this to life. 🤍
Let's give more kimono a second life, together!
Wear the story. Save a kimono. 🌸🇯🇵
