Kimono Obi Bag – Crest Collage

$80.00
✦ THE STORY BEHIND THE KIMONO PATTERN ✦
Marumon Chirashi, Scattered Roundels and Crests
Angled panels in cream, slate, and gold overlap like scattered papers, filled with round crests of plum and chrysanthemum, a pine roundel, a zigzag band, and dark plum blossoms among green leaves, and on the other face misty grey hills give way to camellias and a small square framing bamboo. Circular motifs and family crests, known as marumon and kamon, have long been scattered across Japanese textiles, each design carrying its own wish for good fortune, prosperity, or long life. Gathered together on one bag, these small emblems seem to form a lively collection of hopes.
